She swallowed the pills again, hoping.
I've always wanted to try writing one of these.

What is your interpretation?

Edit 8.13: Holy cr[bleep]! A DD?! And here I was thinking about taking this down... Thank you ^neurotype and everyone else who has commented and :+fav:! I'm sure long stretches of boredom will occur soon enough and I can try responding to you all. :D

My mind sometimes heads into dark corners... This is one of those times.

Suicide reattempt.

Wow, this is actually really good. Nobody would of think that 6 words could make you wonder so much. Really deep and this is one of my favourite DD's of all the time

I love the multiple layers of meaning in this. One of the best 6-worders I've seen.

Thank you. :) I appreciate it. I'd actually written this as an optimist/pessimist test but have discovered from peoples' comments that there are more options than I anticipated. :giggle: I hope to write more of these at some point.

Okay, could have worded that better...  Also, props for reading all these comments~Anyways, its not that it is bad, but it is just so...  I don't know.  Stereotypical?  I can't quite find the word..  Oh well.  If it means something to you, that is excellent.  :)  It is just so simple, though.  :P  That is all...

It doesn't really mean much to me other than it was my first attempt at a six word story (and my second DD). It's apparently a good start and I'll definitely keep trying. I was actually considering taking this down for quite a while but then it got a DD and I don't have the heart to do the deed any longer.

I originally meant for this to just be a test of optimism/pessimism but I've gotten some really interesting, creative interpretations that I didn't expect. It was really fun in that aspect. :)

Well, that is great.  Having a story that is flexible and could apply to just about anything is cool.  Even if it is only six words..  Glad you enjoyed the DD, because obviously the community thinks you deserved it.  I might be skeptical, and as you said yourself, you were going to scrap it, but the fact that the DD still gives you optimism is awesome.   ^3^  so keep on writing, I guess...  And ignore all the hags like me.  :3~

I immediately thought attempted suicide. Not sure why my mind immediate went to the pessimistic interpretation :(

I wonder if it's a personal preference or social conditioning to jump to that conclusion. Suicide (and attempts) are far more dramatic with their negative impacts than the optimistic options and the US is all about drama.

Maybe she's a giant, stalky purple dildo and she found these pills in a police station bathroom that will turn her into a human so she can pursue the man she loves.

I instantly thought of the interpretation as she's swallowing morning after pills. Not sure. Congrats btw (probably the nineteen-thousandth time you've read that word today :3)

There are a dozen possible interpretations, among which she is trying to commit suicide, induce miscarriage, expel some inner daemon, kill someone else, get rid of depression or some other medical illness, etc. I just think that this getting a DD for being so "moving and incredible" is a bit ridiculous.

Sorry, I don't remember the exact wording and I'm too lazy to look at it. The point is that I disagree and am exercising my right as an American to voice that.

My first thought was an attempted suicide, but it could be that she's ill or in pain and the pills are supposed to help her.

I don't really know how to describe the way I feel about these words. They make me think of two radically different situations. In one, horribly pessimistic, and in the other, painfully optimistic. Very hard to put into words, but I tried. Never the less, I thought it was both beautiful and intriguing. So, props to you :)

Thank you. :) I find it fascinating that you simultaneously got the extreme ends of the spectrum I saw. Could it suggest some sort of equilibrium you've found, or maybe indecisiveness? Maybe it's just silliness trying to divine personality type based on reactions to six little words...
